Fundamentals of Neuromodulators
course specifics
This is a five hour comprehensive training course that provides practitioners with a certification in injecting neuromodulators specifically Botox (botulinum toxin type A) and Xeomin (botulinum toxin type A). This activity is approved for 4.25 contact hour(s) of continuing education (which includes 1.0 hour(s) of pharmacology) by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners®. Activity ID# 23096390. This activity was planned in accordance with AANP Accreditation Standards and Policies. It will begin with an hour of didactic training then the rest of the day will be dedicated to hands-on injecting. The course will allow a maximum of four students per class for optimal opportunity for one-on-one training with Julie Turner, NP-C.
This course will focus on treating patients’ upper face with neuromodulators. It will also teach how to treat a lip flip with neuromodulators. It will include facial anatomy, dosage recommendations with a quick reference guide, a charting template, how-to reconstitute and draw up neuromodulators, and how-to avoid and manage complications. You will have the opportunity to practice injecting on a manikin’s face prior to injecting on your model.
In addition, you will receive Julie Turner’s personal cell phone number should you need a mentor or have additional questions post completing the course.
You will inject all three areas of the upper face—frontalis, glabella, and orbicularis oculi on one model. You may bring your own model, or a model can be provided. The model is responsible to pay for the product (Xeomin/Botox) used at a discounted rate.
Cancellation policy: You must cancel at least one week prior to the course date in order to receive a full refund. If you cancel within one week of the course, a refund will not be issued.

course objectives
Identify facial muscle anatomy and the areas of the face that should be avoided when injecting neuromodulators to prevent undesired outcomes, as well as, contraindications for treatment.
Identify
Assess
Be able to assess both male and female patients and determine adequate neuromodulator dosing.
Understand
Understand the difference between Botox and Xeomin in terms of biochemistry and expected results, as well as, how to manage unexpected outcomes with neuromodulators.
Perform
Successfully reconstitute and draw up neuromodulators, as well as, inject neuromodulators into the upper face at the appropriate location and depth.
